Just because I've just been talking about this with my housemates, and they're funny to find out!

    Mine:
    1) I live in Lee Dixon's old house, and went to primary school with his daughter.
    2) I also went to primary school with Ian Dowie's niece, and Graham Rix's kids.
    3) My mum went to school with Susannah of Trinny & Susannah fame.
    4) I live (back home) two doors down from Alan Titchmarsh's brother.
    5) My secondary school's headteacher was Alvin Stardust's son.

I don't know if any of the Brits on here remember a TV show called 'Pet Rescue' on Channel 4, but I was on that when I was 10.I tell you what, we are going to this party, because I'm trying to picture this "girl" who "likes you" and all I can see is you in a dress.

I was one of the 7 folk who met Stephen Colbert (and Paul Dinello) at 1am in June 2007. We're pretty infamous around the TCR/TDS community or were at the time.

    That's about all I have...

Hamish Clark, from Monarch of the Glen (anyone? anyone? Beuller?), spoke at my school end of year thing when I was in first year. I went up to accept my gold award, he bent down to kiss my check and *I* ran away. I still don't know where those 2 seconds went but I'll never live it down. Got his autograph after and apologized (sort of)."Like a drunken night, it's the best bits that are coloured in" Poke - Frightened Rabbit

And the new Doctor Who went to the same school as my friend, it's down the road from me. I was rejected as I wasn't smart enough. That's pretty lame fame. :sad:She's beautiful and therefore to be wooed.

    Monarch of the Glen
    YES I remember it!

He was the really Scottish one, the one that wore a kilt for practically all of the episodes. He was cute and lovely and funny and I ran away from a kiss from him. Seriously what is wrong with me?"Like a drunken night, it's the best bits that are coloured in" Poke - Frightened Rabbit

Oh yeah monarch of the glenn

Lady GaGa was at my best friend's prom - before she was famous. They rode a limo together. She's meant to be dragging out the photos for me. Can't wait to see A 16 year old gaga!

As I come from Brizzle a lot of my friends have been in Skins. I auditioned for it once but they weren't looking for gingers. :( And the trailer when Maxi was dancing on the roof of some flats - that's my gran's roof.

I've been on radio 1 a couple of times. I can't listen back though because I hate my accent. urgh!

I got through to round 4 of Hardspell when I was 13; on TV for a second, getting my word wrong OF COURSE.
I've been in the Crewe Chronicle a few times, one of them was when a cow came to my primary school (no idea why) and there was a picture of me patting its head.
My dad is friends with one of the guys that did Dario G back in 1998. One of their singles got to number 2 in the chart and they were on TOTP and everything. http://www.last.fm/music/Dario+G I'd say that was a fair few listeners.
One I've mentioned before-that Jennie from Big Brother 6 went to my college.

my friend had a secret language with nicholas hoult and sat next to him in maths.

i was on some telly programme once when i was really young.

erm. i met tom baker once and he offered my brother a jelly baby.

oh and the one i always bring out when im drunk that seems to impress a lot of girls: keith murray kissed me on the cheek at reading festival. thats totally not lame though. its awesome.

oh i have some epicly lame ones actually:

colin murray replied to an email i sent him about a muse remix
calvin harris answered one of my questions on radio 1 (for the record it was "what is your favourite kind of cake" and his answer was battenberg.)
muse answered one of my questions behind the scenes at the vmas ages ago.
dev hynes pointed at me while i took a picture of him at an nme big gig i went to. and then i commented on his blog about it and he remembered me.

i feel like there's some really obvious ones im missing out, just because they're so very lame. The secret ingredient is crime

Lame: My friend Michael goes to college with Kevin Bacon's son.
Kinda cool at the time when I was 11, but now it's lame: Jennifer Lopez filmed a movie at the house next to my friend's property.
Not sure if this one even counts: I was on our local government television channel at 3 in the morning when I was at a state house judiciary committee hearing.

I was slimed on Nickelodeon when I was 5. I don't know if any Americans remember that show "What Would You Do?" but it was hosted by Mark Summers. I got chosen to be slimed so I put on an awesome orange jumpsuit and sat in a kiddie pool and they poured all the green stuff on you. I only regret that I didn't eat it. They asked me to have a taste and I said no. Now all my friends are like you can just make slime and eat it yourself, but homemade slime is not Nickelodeon slime.

I also stood next to Demetri Martin and Bret from Flight of the Conchords during a Regina Spektor show at Bonnaroo festival. Real nice guys.Check out my blog

I totally remember "What Would You Do" Miranda! I would have loved to have gotten slimed. Nickelodeon sucks now.
And your bit about Demetri and Bret reminded me when I was THIS CLOSE to famous this year at Bumbershoot Music and Art festival - David Cross and Amber Tamblyn were right behind me. And I went to a free screening of "Youth In Revolt," Michael Cera's new movie, and he was there. So I took pictures of him.

awww...I like all your claims to fame. they are not lame at all.
I don't have many myself. one seems lame to others but I still love to think back.
in 1993 (I was 15) I won a competition on a german tv show to meet Chesney Hawkes. I met him, were on tv with him, we were talking, I got kisses from him and his brother jodie and I was even behind the camera filming his performance. he was so lovely. only young himself back then. aaahhhh.... wonderful day it was for me and my family. (except, my sister was über-jealous.) and when I uploaded that photo from back then on facebook and linked him, I got a "X". I still got a weak spot for him. :shamed:

another "claims" to fame: WAS picked up on sth. I said for their banter on their Leipzig gig, they changed the setlist for me, Chris knows my son's name and I got Christmas greetings from him etc. I know, old stories, but I'm still proud as anything of all these little things. I love WAS. they just make me feel good.

    other than that...nothing.

ps: even I know "Pet Rescue". I remember that from my internship in Sheffield. hehe.I don't bite but you can't believe it -- "Carol"

Abby, I love that picture of Michael Cera. The closest I've ever been to him was seeing him in a car with his (now ex-) girlfriend behind my sister's car.

An old lame claim to fame I have is being quoted by a newspaper in Ireland about Westlife. I was ridiculously obsessed about them back in the day and the Sligo Weekender set up a phone interview with me asking about what I knew about Westlife, etc.

My most recent kinda cool claim to fame was getting into a VIP pre-Grammy party (for the winner of the Best Alternative album!!) a few weeks ago with a couple of friends. The only cool celebrity that was there (besides the band) was Jason Schwartzman. David Spade was there too but he looked like a douchebag. What's the Word - your next best resource for all news on We Are Scientists

I had a very drunk [well.. I was anyway] conversation with Alan from the Rakes once and it was kind of political. since I was drunk, all I basically said was "yeah! Suspicious Eyes is such a clever song!" about 50 times.
OH and I was once at a Maximo aftershow party [<3] and their tour manager Stefano bought me a wodka cranberry and lemonade [it tasted so good but I couldn't remember the name, so I kept asking the friend I was with what the name was] :D total claim to fame.there's a very small snake drowning in a cold lake.

My friend refused to pronounce this as vodka when she was drunk in Austria. We were such witty foreigners. We also used to decide which brand of vodka to buy based on how prominently the word WODKA was printed on the label.
